We are delighted you have chosen to stay in one of the self-catering accommodations at Brantwood. We have put together some useful information about your booking and how to enjoy your stay in this document. If anything is unclear, please contact us so we can explain in further detail to avoid any misunderstandings.
- A non-refundable deposit of £100 per accommodation booking is payable at the time of booking. Bookings made less than four weeks before your arrival date must be paid in full at the time of booking.
- You will be asked to pay the balance of your booking in advance of your arrival date. This request is usually made 4 weeks prior to your arrival date but can be paid at anytime in advance if you wish to pay earlier.
- All cancellations must be notified by email or in writing. If you cancel your holiday less than 4 weeks before your arrival date the deposit will be retained. The balance will be returned if we are able to re-sell the booking period.
- If you wish to re-arrange your booking for a different date we will make all reasonable efforts to accommodate a revised booking within the same calendar year and will transfer the deposit. Only one change of dates will be accommodated.
- Your booking will not be cancelled by The Brantwood Trust except in exceptional circumstances beyond our control. Notification will be given of the cancellation as soon as possible and we will promptly refund all payments made for your holiday. Our liability for cancellation will be limited to payments made to us.
- The maximum number of persons using the accommodation at any time must not exceed the capacity of the accommodation and only those listed on the booking form can occupy the property.
- Tenancies normally commence at 1pm (Eyrie and Coachman’s Quarters) / 3pm (Lodge) unless otherwise agreed and guests are required to vacate the rental by 10am on the day of departure. This allows the accommodation to be thoroughly cleaned and prepared for incoming guests.
- There is no vaping or smoking allowed anywhere inside the accommodations. Please dispose of cigarette ends responsibly.
- Pets in Coachman’s Quarters (Sorry no pets allowed in the Lodge or the Eyrie)
-Only 2 pets are allowed at one time
-Please don’t let pets onto the furniture, especially sofas and beds
-Please clean up after your pets. Please let us know if your pet has had an accident on any soft furnishings as we will need to arrange for professional cleaning for hygiene reasons. - Damages and breakages – If you notice something is missing or damaged in your accommodation, please let us know immediately so that we can take the appropriate action. If there has been any damage or breakages during your stay, we would be grateful if you could report them before check-out.
- Please make sure you switch off lights, heating, air conditioning or any electrical appliances when you go out.
- Please park your vehicles in the car park.
- Brantwood is home to some staff and there may also be other people staying in accommodations. Please be mindful of your noise levels especially between 10 pm and 8 am.
- Candles are not allowed inside the accommodations.
- Check-out – Please empty bins, clean any used kitchenware and leave the property in an acceptable condition prior to departure. Please return all sets of keys to a member of staff.
- The properties are privately owned and managed by the Brantwood Trust and are treasured heritage buildings. We expect all guests to enjoy the facilities and treat the properties with the same respect that they would with their own house.

The accommodation comprises one double bed, large well equipped kitchen/diner, a cosy seating area and an en-suite shower room and toilet. Access is via outside steps, giving access to the gardens and woodland of Brantwood’s 250 acre estate at any time during your stay.
The Coachmans can be booked for a minimum of 3 nights. Please note that Sunday check-ins are unavailable, and Saturday check-ins are subject to availability.

We understand that your furry friends are part of the family, which is why well-behaved dogs are very welcome to join you in the Coachman’s Quarters (by prior arrangement when booking). There is a charge of £10 per dog per stay.

Discover Brantwood
Guests are welcome to enjoy Brantwood’s exhibitions and historic collections whenever they wish during opening hours. There are regular sailings to Brantwood’s jetty by Steam Yacht Gondola and Coniston Launch if you wish to take a cruise on the lake or cross by boat to Coniston boatlandings. The village of Coniston is a short walk from the boatlandings and has a good selection of food shops, cafes and pubs. Weekly rental or short breaks can be booked all year round.
