Ticket Terms and Conditions
All tickets to Brantwood are subject to these terms and conditions. This includes the following types of tickets (together ‘Tickets’):
- Entry Tickets: for general admission to the grounds and historic house;
- Exhibition Tickets: for entry to temporary, special or paid-for exhibitions; and
- Event Tickets: for entry to events held on-site
In these terms and conditions, ‘Brantwood’, ‘’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ refers to the Trustees of the Brantwood Trust
In booking a Ticket, or using a Ticket regardless of whether you were the person who booked it, you understand and agree that:
- You will not be allowed to enter Brantwood without a valid Entry Ticket.
- Your Ticket is valid only for the number of person(s), the date and/or the entry time slot stated on the Ticket’s face.
- During your visit you must retain your Ticket safely for production on demand by our representative(s).
- Your Ticket cannot be refunded or exchanged (except as set out in our Cancellation policy below).
Your visit, including to any exhibition or event, is at all times subject to any notice to visitors we post on our premises and to the direction, supervision and guidance of our staff, which may include directions in relation to health and safety.
Your ticket is subject to our Resale policy below.
We reserve the right, at our sole and absolute discretion, to refuse to allow you to enter Brantwood, or to enter into any exhibition or event, and/or escort you from our premises if, in our judgment, you breach any of these terms and conditions, and in such case, we shall have no liability to you.
We also reserve the right, at our sole and absolute discretion, to:
- alter our advertised arrangements for opening and admission to Brantwood, or for any exhibition or event;
- cancel any Ticket without notice; or
- close Brantwood (or any part thereof) without notice,
AND in any such event (a) we shall not be liable to you for any loss of business, revenue, profits, anticipated savings or goodwill (whether direct or indirect) or for any indirect, special or consequential loss of any kind and in each case howsoever arising, even if you have advised us of the possibility of same; and (b) our maximum liability to you shall not exceed the total amount you paid for your Ticket.
For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in these terms and conditions shall limit our liability to you for death, personal injury or fraud, or any other liability that cannot, as a matter of law, be excluded or limited.
This agreement is subject to the laws of England and Wales and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
Resale policy
If a Ticket is resold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than us or one of our authorised sub-agents, then that Ticket will be void. If you attempt to enter Brantwood, an exhibition or an event with a Ticket that has been resold without Brantwood’s written consent, you may be refused entry to, or ejected from, Brantwood and no compensation will be payable to you by us.
Cancellation and refund policy
It may be necessary in some circumstances for Brantwood to cancel your Ticket. If we have to cancel a Ticket you booked in advance (or to cancel a day of an event for which you have booked an Event Ticket), we will attempt to contact you to arrange an exchange or refund of your Ticket. This contact will be in the form of an email, so you are advised to check your email inbox before visiting Brantwood to avoid an unnecessary journey should your Ticket be cancelled. If an alternative visit date cannot be arranged, Brantwood will then refund the full price paid, if any, for your Ticket.
Please be aware that, if the price paid for your Ticket is refunded due to a cancellation or because you upgrade your Ticket to Membership, we will not refund the amount of any donation made at the time your Ticket was purchased. As a charity, Brantwood cannot refund donations except in limited circumstances, such as if your donation has been made as a result of fraud or misuse or in the event of accidental duplicate transactions.
If you make a Gift Aid declaration at the time of purchasing your Ticket, your entire Ticket price will become non-refundable to meet HMRC Gift Aid requirements, even if the ticket is subsequently cancelled. However, if the ticket is subsequently cancelled we will still attempt to contact you to arrange an exchange for an alternative date.
E-tickets
Booking e-tickets
When booking a Ticket electronically through our website or an authorised suppliers website (an ‘e-ticket’), in addition to agreeing to these terms and conditions, you are also agreeing to the Standard terms of use for the website.
Classes of e-ticket holders
The following definitions will apply to e-ticket sales from Brantwood website:
- Child: a person aged from 0 years old to 16 years old (inclusive)
- Adult: a person aged 17 years and above
- Student: an adult who shows valid photographic student ID on arrival
Receiving your e-ticket
Once your online booking has been confirmed an order confirmation will be sent to the email address you specified.
It is your responsibility to check prior to booking that the information you have supplied to us with regards to your e-ticket requirements is accurate. We are only responsible for issuing e-tickets in accordance with the information you provide.
The date, time slot or event for which an e-ticket has been booked cannot be changed once booking is complete. Payments for e-tickets are non-refundable (except as set out in our Cancellation policy).
Using your e-ticket
E-tickets are valid only for the date, entry time and/or event stated upon them.
On arrival at Brantwood (or at the entry to the exhibition or event for which you hold an e-ticket), the following will be required in order to validate an e-ticket booked through Brantwood website:
1) Appropriate proof of entitlement to any discounted rate claimed (such as NUS card) for each person to be admitted with the e-ticket; and
2) A legible printout of your e-ticket or the display of this on your mobile device.
Donations & Gift Aid
If you are a UK taxpayer and have bought tickets that include a donation, Brantwood can claim back extra money from the government through the Gift Aid scheme. This means that your donation is worth even more to the Museum. For every pound paid, we can claim back £0.25 – so if your ticket costs £10 we can claim back an extra £2.50.
By checking the box to Gift Aid your order on the ticket webpage, you confirm that you agree to this statement:
‘I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference.’
You agree to contact us if you wish to cancel your Gift Aid declaration, if you have changed your name or address, or if you no longer pay sufficient tax to quality for Gift Aid. If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue & Customs to adjust your tax code.
Please note that any donation made when buying a ticket is non-refundable.
