Glass Fusing for Beginners

This one day workshop will give you a basic understanding of glass fusing, the issues of compatibility, available kilns, slumping & moulds etc. You will learn cutting & design skills to produce a light catcher, approximately 7×7 inches, to admire and take home with you.  All equipment and glass will be provided.  Please wear “sensible”shoes (no open toes).

 

Morning/10.30 – Learn about the structure of glass.

Fusing, cycles & equipment needed

Cutting skills – leaflets to take home

Types of glass

Design.

Lunch approx 12 – 12.45

Finish design with chosen colours,

Cut glass & build lightcatcher.

Glue

Tidy away & chat

Finish 4.30

 

Tea and coffee to be available throughout the day.  Lunch can be arranged at our in-house cafe for course participants; your tutor will arrange this in the morning for you or, if you prefer, please feel free to bring your own packed lunch.
