What's going on at Brantwood?

Activities
Lace making demonstrations, guided walks, readings, trails, quizzes and a stone xylophone to play, there’s lots to do during your visit.

Stone Xylophone

Installed in the Linton Room at Brantwood, this exciting 21st century instrument is available for our visitors to play. Unveiled at Brantwood on 19th August 2010 at "Ruskin Rocks" event and demonstrated by internationally renowned percussionist Dame Eveleyn Glennie.

Ruskin Lace Demonstrations
Discover the art of Ruskin lace making. Demonstrations every other Thursday (subject to availability), throughout the day, from April to October. No additional admission charge. It is advisable to check beforehand to confirm this event is taking place.

Guided Walks
Explore Brantwood’s fascinating and extensive estate with one of our very knowledgeable guides. April to October: every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and alternate Sundays at 2.15pm. No additional charge. No pre-booking required.

Ruskin Readings
Listen to excerpts of original Ruskin read by Pat Crellin.
First Tuesday of the month from April to October 2010, inclusive.
From 2.30pm.
No additional admission charge.

Trails
Let the children discover Brantwood’s gardens with an activity trail written specially for them. No additional charge. Available during all school holidays.

Quizzes
A range of house quizzes are available for children, suited to differing age groups. No additional charge.
